Abbott Diagnostics

The summer after High School graduation, I worked on a project involving an immunoassay instrument designed by Abbott Diagnostics. Specifically, a track that would carry blood samples across the inside of the instrument. Essentially, the sample was not reaching the specified position at a specified time, which was causing failures at the beginning stages of blood testing.

My tasks were to determine the root cause, create a test bed that would be used at our supplier's facilities, and implement a validation test that had been started by an engineer from Singapore. I recived my Yellow Belt certification with this project and saved the company over $10,000.
